Greater Self

Arcimboldo13

Vortumnus (Vertumno) by

Giuseppe Arcimboldo

From the Greater Self, in the Beginning, came Space.
From Space came air; out of Air, Fire; out of Fire,
Water, and from Water came Solid Earth. From Earth
arose all Living Plants and from them came Food.
The Body, composed of the Essence of Food, is the
Physical Aspect of the Greater Self.

McDonald's Screws Up Oatmeal

Mcdonalds-oatmeal

Read It: http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/02/22/how-to-make-oatmeal-wrong/?partner=rss&emc=rss

A more accurate description than “100 percent natural whole-grain oats,” “plump raisins,” “sweet cranberries” and “crisp fresh apples” would be “oats, sugar, sweetened dried fruit, cream and 11 weird ingredients you would never keep in your kitchen.”

Bolivia Is What's Up

Bolivia Enshrines Natural World's Rights with Equal Status for Mother Earth:

"She (mother earth) is sacred, fertile and the source of life that feeds and cares for all living beings in her womb. She is in permanent balance, harmony and communication with the cosmos. She is comprised of all ecosystems and living beings, and their self-organisation."

The Field Academy

Fieldacademy

This is an amazing new education concept that has been started by a few incredible friends from Vermont. Here is a some information, but check out the full site below:

Opening in August of 2012, the Field Academy is an academically rigorous, two-year residential high school for 20 juniors and 20 seniors.  Our design and academic curriculum have two main features: (a) a sustainable farm campus; and (b) extensive travel throughout the United States.  In both settings, we investigate what surrounds us: on the farm, we study the environmental, political, and social implications of being part of an ecosystem; on the road, we explore historical, literary, artistic, and scientific disciplines to deepen our understanding of American identity and citizenship.
